Does anyone else make a decision by weighing the cons instead of the pros?
I tend to look at the downsides and then I choose to minimize the downsides. I find this easier than weighing both the pros and cons.

Yes, but I'll admit the unknowns sometimes scare me and I have a very good defence mechanism that wraps that up unto something else.... Letting myself off the hook.
But question, what's the worst that happens if you look at the pros and you are left wanting or defeated by coming out wrong? You get to say you tried, hopefully met people in your attempt, and you didn't succumb to the idea of failure before?
