I disagree with the Church’s view on almost everything except capital punishment. Interestingly a large number of Catholics I know also seem to disagree with the Church’s positions on any number of topics.

@Harmonium1923 that's where Catholics differ from basically every other denomination. For anyone else (and as described in the Bible), "church" is the people/congregation, to Catholics the church is the pope...
@wildbill83 Thats not true. The Pope is the leader of the Church like the Queen is the leader of protestant church in Uk. I dont think anyone worships them directly. I know I dont. I think your misguided. Catholics dont worship statues either another myth.

@Cutiepi23 i.e. "political" leadership... congregation has little or no say in the matter. Here, if a pastor (or any member of the church for that matter) loses confidence of the congregation/breaks away from scripture/sacrament, they're thrown out of the church (excommunication).

When's the last time the Queen or Pope were excommunicated?
@wildbill83 Maybe there's no reason to excommunicate them.
