It’s been ages since I have attended a Catholic mass or funeral until this past weekend. A neighbor from the old neighborhood passed on and I attended the service on youtube streaming (I now live way too many miles away). The service was a cookie cutter uninspired, soulless and empty rite that reminded me of why I lost faith so long ago. To those it gives solace I say peace be with you. I just find it as dry and unfulfilling as a Communion wafer.
