I Am a Thinker
If we can understand the psyche of a narcissist and identify their qualities then we can begin to find a way that breaks the vicious cycle that is bullying and domestic abuse.
Yes nobody is perfect, we all have flaws, that is what makes us human but there are flaws out there that only reveal themselves behind closed doors and these are the flaws that we shouldn't accept at all, like selfishness, being too demanding, manipulation, deceit and implicit exploitation. If they can't accept the makings of their being, why should we accept them? I do honestly believe that honesty is the best policy no matter what situation, always best to be upfront about whatever it is.
Telling yourself a lie, that only makes problems worse in the end up and at the heart of it you are burying your own and the unwillingness to accept your own reality, you are creating a fantasy, a dreamed up version of yourself just so you can rest easier? Well that's dangerous water to tread. The question is, are they fully apathetic? I think in everyone there is a degree of empathy. If they didn't have empathy and are solely apathetic, why would they create this illusion of themselves in the first place? They must care to some degree of what others think, deep down. I mean very deep. Unless you really are a complete psychopath.
Good vs evil, evil vs good. Empathy vs apathy, apathy vs empathy. That's black and white, and we all know that in life, things are not always that clear cut, there are shades of grey and they could be more than fifty of them. Lol.
We all have the tendency to do both good and bad but what matters most is the why. The reason. So to be realistic, its always better to look at things on a spectrum. Its the balance between good and bad. The balance between hero and villain. The balance between cops and robbers. The balance between lovers and fighters. The balance between soldiers and terrorists. The balance between liberator and dictator. The balance between Love and Hate. The balance between the yin and the yang.
The Karmic spectrum. It is the most realistic.
If there is anything that the bible does get right, it is, what comes around, goes around AND what goes around in certain cases will inevitably come back around again in full swing, full circle just like the rotation of the earth we live on. It is the world we live in.
So if someone shits on their own doorstep, the more likely scenario is that more shit will be thrown at their own doorstep and that is the nature of it.
Do we choose the path we go down? Or is our nature determining what path we go down in life? Perhaps it is a combination of the two.
