I Wish I Had Someone To Talk To
There’s no one that understands me.
There’s no one that I trust
And all the words I need to say
Will always turn to dust
I thought I found a difference
Upon a whole new shore
But when the tide came surging in
I was a grain of sand once more
And I am often labeled
Because my sadness can’t fit in
And every person I run across
Says my light has grown too dim
And surely I can’t blame them
When I know that they are right
Because I am just a shadow
Floating through the endless night
But here I am still standing
Bereft and all alone
Knowing that there’s not a soul
Who will accept me as their own
And so I trudge off into the blight
A darkness that accepts me
Alone through all my endless nights
Knowing the darkness has now caged me.
Yet still I stand here all alone
Fighting for what I see
And in the end; From the cage
Eventually I’ll be freed
