I Stay Up Late

I try not too.
I felt really relaxed earlier so I jumped into bed. But now I feel like I’m missing something like my family or something. I get really nostalgic sometimes at night. When I do I like to step out and walk alone in the night when it’s really quiet. That was before I moved into this new place and there are so many people out at night.
Don’t like it.
One of the many things I learned from a superb counselor about relaxation is - often it's our facial muscles and our tongue that registers tension. She taught me to begin from the top of my head and visualize the tension leaving my body - including especially the tongue, face and jaw. Rax. Pax. Sleep.

Are you far away from your family? How about putting on some music? Or, do what I just did. I bought a sound machine with water sounds, bird sounds, etc. to help me relax at bedtime. I had one before but I gave it to a friend here as he needed it more than me. I can understand how you feel unsafe and weird in a new place that people are around in the night. I hope this improves for you soon.
