What does taking a chance entail?

@JP1119 Talking with someone you're not really interested in but giving them a chance thinking maybe it will end up differently but it doesn't.

@Goldengirl22 I’ve gone on dates with girls I wasn’t really interested in. I had a nice time, but in each case I couldn’t stop thinking about how I wasn’t really interested in them.
