Do you ever talk to someone and they seem like a shell of a person ?

My family are like empty souls. Anything that comes out of them is so fake and phony. They have no emotions except anger and being assholes and even that is not passionate. It makes me wonder what could have happened to them or what their issue actually is.
They don't understand anything or even make sense. Imagine being the one person in a family that is just different than that. I feel everything . My love for people is real and genuine.
