I Am a Night Owl

I remember when I applied for a new job as a LPN, I asked for NIGHTSHIFT!!! I am not a morning person! Nightshift is my shift!! I got the job and was the happiest girl ever. I had occasional evening shifts but it was mostly night shifts.

But then, the dreadful day came like a ghost in the night ... Shortage! Not enough for day shift. They were trying to recruit new people, but in the meantime, they had to move people around and I was one of those 'people'.

They didn't even ask me if I wanted to be moved in the morning shift team. They just put me there without my consent. Couldn't say much about it anyway...

Day shift was as great as evening or night shift, but getting out of bed at 05:15 every morning to go to work was a real torture. My shift ended at 14:00, but nope.. My body couldn't handle it.

When they finally recruited more nursing staff, I was sent back to my evening, night shift and my joy came back!!

I'm a night owl.. I think best at night and am more active than I am in the day!! DONT SEND ME BACK TO DAY SHIFT!!!

I worked in hospital telecommunications for twelve years, and my happiest time was when I worked night shift. I went to night shift to avoid the vipers nest of office politics. I liked the autonomy and responsibility of working nights.
Some people are not geared up for mornings at all and do gravitate towards the night. Some are the opposite and love early mornings. I guess we gotta be who we are.

That's so cool. I love being a night owl. I stay up late and get up early for work.
