No idea how old you are, but I've found that the older you get the harder it is to make 'friends' who really want to be close. It seems that after 35 or 40 years old you'll be lucky to find one or two people who are true friends and not just acquaintances.

It's a large part of the problem I'm having. There are plenty of people I know, plenty of acquaintances, but very few friends. I know part of it is as you go through and experience your life, it becomes harder for others to relate. I haven't had an easy life and I haven't played things safe, so there's no way for a lot of people to come close to the kind of experiences I've had. It's hard to make friends when there's no common ground on a deeper level.

@Shadowpaws: true . When I grew up we were so poor and all my friends were poor too . But I managed to study and stuff and I have like 1 friend from my childhood. Also with the rest it becomes a competition now in terms of life's achievements
