Today I finished making a third birdhouse and a birdfeeder. Got one birdhouse and the feeder up... tomorrow I'll finish putting up the other birdhouses.
@meggie that's absolutely too cute! Now I'm thinking I need a watering station of some sort for the hot summer ahead... birds have to drink and bath too!
@fun4us2b yep, from what I've read they can indeed be fickle. And yes, much of it is about safety. I placed them on squirrel proof poles, kept them far enough aways from anything a squirrel or other critter can jump from, placed them where they get enough shade to keep them from getting too hot, vented them, etc. Now it's a wait and see game.
@bookerdana yeah, I got carried away on that one. The other two are subdued, one natural cedar and the other a sort of hacienda motif with a white stucco I dreamed up, brick trim and a green roof.
@EldritchFox that sounds like fun... nothing more fun (and rewarding) than making you child happy.
And thank you - the other two are different. One is a log cabin and one is modeled after the hacienda style. It's fun seeing a picture and putting your own spin on it.
@TexChik thank you, and you just gave me another idea. We have several owls in my and the immediate surrounding neighborhoods... that sounds like a plan! Thank you!
