When people say, define normal...
If you don't notice a difference, you're probably on the normal side of things.
For starters, your amygdala probably isn't full of awful memories so your frontal lobe functions properly.
You may err on the neurotypical, so you don't get super anxious around people. You can say the right things and wear the right things and have hobbies that can be shared without embarrassment.
Normal is the people who thought I was a freak for living in a van. The people who look down on me because I cut the necks out of all my shirts because it feels better. The people who will like me but never get involved because I'm weird/strange/different.
Don't try to cut me off with, "define normal" 😂
Yes I understand everyone is a bit weird, but if you haven't noticed the person who is always alone doing something strange, maybe you live in a better place than I do.
Because my son and I get treated like crap for being different.
Come listen to my son tell you about how he gets treated because he doesn't play sports and likes the color pink. And understand other kids in his class talk about the poor people in India being disposable because they're poor.
If you don't understand how to define normal, consider yourself lucky. But I have been isolated enough by others to see the separation.
