Especially when they are just up and gone. Recently happened with a friend. Fortunately we had come to a conclusion in our discussion. Not always the case.
It would be really nice if there was a "So long, nice knowing you" note on the way out.
Many keep their SW account a secret. Maybe the quick exits are when their SO discovers the SW account...
