There Was A Candidate…

Running for a spot on something called OHA at large trustee. Which is the office of hawaiian affairs. Well his name is shelby pikachu billionaire. No joke. Obviously I didn’t vote for him. I think someone running for OHA should at the very least be someone of native hawaiian ancestry. Not some edgy hipster cosplayer. Although I’m not even sure the winner or the candidate that got the most votes has any hawaiian ancestry either. Just saying. The pikachu guy did get 11,418 votes but that only netted him 1.4% of the total votes cast. The winner, some guy named brickwood galuteria (clearly not someone of native hawaiian ancestry either) received 74,671 votes with 8.9% of total votes cast. The reason the margin of victory is so small is because there were 15 candidates running and people were allowed to vote for up to 3 candidates for this particular position. 🤷🏽‍♀
