This sounds like a female perspective, to be honest. Rarer to find that level of masochism among males. Why should a scar be my death? Why should a scab be my rebirth? I am collected and unified more and more as time goes on, and the scars don't detract from it. Imagine the labor of having to be reborn and learn everything anew.
