My question, my thoughts.....

How do you deal with the world? How?

Everything is on fire, and terrifying, and a shitshow….

So what's something random you do to help yourself cope?

I don’t look at the news. If the news is on, I don’t go in. You can’t escape it all, but you can keep from having it beaten into your head all day long. I think it really helps my attitude.

@Jill1990 Is your husband draft age, the military is having a hard time recruiting 😳 and thinking about reinstated the draft.....
Jill1990 · 31-35, F
@masterofyou doesn’t matter where it is, I can’t stop it, and I’m not going to crawl in a hole somewhere.
masterofyou · 70-79, M
@Jill1990 Well okay good luck....

Its not easy. But it is simple..
Problems come in several types. Those too big to worry about.. Those too small to worry about. Those that effect me personally, those that dont effect me personally. Those I can do something about and those I cant do anything about.
I start with those I can do something about. that will effect me and that are worth my time to deal with.. (Remember 80% of the things you are worried about will never happen)
Once I have conquered that category I look at the "too big to worry about" pile like pollution and global warming or nuclear way.. And I think global, but act local. I recycle, dont waste water, have PV panels on the roof and dont drive a gas guzzler and brought my kids up with the same values. Now I am teaching my grandkids those lessons, so that hopefully they will cope into the future. I cant save the world. But maybe I can help save my family..😷

@masterofyou That doesnt happen here. Our city grid is interlocked so if interrupted a new circuit takes over in seconds.😷
masterofyou · 70-79, M
@whowasthatmaskedman That won't last forever... What have you done to harden your grid from a CME or nuclear burst in the atmosphere??
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@masterofyou Thats one of those, cant control and too big to worry abouit " problems. If things get that far we will be sleeping in the car in the hills someplace..😷

Depends how deeply you want to look down the Rabbit hole.

You can't trust media or newspapers. So don't.
Any news platform has it's biases so recognise that when viewing/listening.

Try and center yourself.
Try and keep a good diet. Exercise regularly and for yourself.
Maintain a regular bedtime and try and relax before you get there.

You can only respond to how other people are at any given time.
So be aware that their sensitivity to the same issues is unlikely to be the same as yours.
Understand that and appreciate it.

Beyond that, remind yourself that you have no ill will towards anyone.
No matter how dull or ignorant or biased they may come across.
Some will test every inch of goodwill within you.
And sometimes it's better to just say
Ok. I can tell you find this distressing to discuss reasonably. But you have to recognise I'm not your enemy !
and leave them to it.

Oh FFS just stop with the conspiracy crackpot BS, that's precisely part of what is making the world a shitshow right now, a majority of humanity are becoming irrational paranoid raving lunatics!!!!!! It's amazing the minority aren't all jumping off bridges just to stop having to deal with the moronic masses embracing conspiracy and paranoia about things like journalism, vaccines, etc. You can only withstand mass idiocy for so long.

@BlueGreenGrey .... so no recognition that media is owned by a very very small group of people then ?

No recognition that that the same small group of people has seen it's influence decline rapidly over the last twenty years then ?

No recognition that newspaper barons have been replaced by online newspaper barons with the power to influence millions more of the younger generation than yours ?

Nothing to do with conspiracy theories this is how print media HAS ALWAYS WORKED !

Stay connected to nature. Have plans for the future. Keep to myself.
masterofyou · 70-79, M
@AlchemyFox nice thought but if that's you in your avatar, you're to pretty to keep to yourself...
AlchemyFox · 36-40, F
@masterofyou it's me, but that doesn't matter to me. I don't care for superficial shit. Most people are.
masterofyou · 70-79, M
@AlchemyFox i agree with you I'm just a guy maybe a little complex but with many flaws, i like that you have a lot of the same things in common of the paranormal....
darkmere1983 · 46-50, M
i try to ignore the world now best i can, if i took everything on board it would drive me mad.
Jenny1234 · 51-55, F
I worry but. When you have no control of things, let it go
plungesponge · 41-45, M
I don't really see myself as part of the world. The world is a shitshow, I am not. I'm surrounded by zombies and clowns, but that doesn't affect me. I can only be measured by the things I can control
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
I don't.
It will bite me in the ass later.
