Am I weird or is this being a normal person? Lol

I'm in a coffee shop and the barista called out "Julianna". I noticed everyone in this small shop had their coffee except one group of chicks who weren't paying attention so I got up from my table and asked if it was one of them. They looked caught off guard but it turned out it was one of their drink, so I took a step toward it to grab it and bring it to them but decided that might be creepy and just walked back to my table while they got it. 😂

I was extremely hesitant about each and every part of it because I'm a dork and I never know what normal people act like or if I'm doing something that's weird.

I just kind of accepted years ago that I do things without having any clue if other people see it as normal or strange, so I usually just make a quick decision to interact with someone or stick to my own business, and occasionally I get stuck in this limbo of half heartedly and nervously/quietly doing it, like just now.

This is why I can't hold a job, because every minute decision I make is like rocket science for me.

I understand this. I used to be adamant about doing what I thought was kind, but I realized it was too much for people who never wanted to know I existed.

I don't know if it's them or us. I do remember a time when you could talk to strangers like friends. Some people are still like that.

I wouldn't have taken their drink to them because a lot of people might be offended at you touching their cup. But I might go over to their table and ask if anyone was named Julianna and if so, tell them their order was ready. But depending on my mood, I might just let them sit there without their drink. 😂
@Mardrae They were also in a position that made it difficult for them to get up and walk over.
You did a kind and good thing. Probably you do more than you give yourself credit for, in general.
You did nothing wrong, but I probably would've just minded my business. People are so weird about stuff these days.
@MsSwan I wonder what Kog would have done.
@SinlessOnslaught Kog would smash their coffee cup

People in the modern west are super culturally disposed to keeping to themselves, to a comical degree. In any other society throughout all of human history, this would have been considered completely normal.

@BlueVeins Yeah like basically his instincts are correct.

@BlueVeins it’s still normal to people my age . It’s a generational thing (based on lack of social skills due to screens or fear of being “called a name “ us gen Xers are immune to that type of stuff lol)
I'm pretty sure this is why I have weird interactions every day
