Mine told me when my wife died not to rush into a relationship, take my time she said, enjoy being alone, no one would love me if i didn't love myself... like wtf? and it'd be good for me etc.. Then dad died and she was like in pieces and had a new guy 3 months later

@cupidnpsyche It's one thing being a strong reliable male that your partner and kids can depend on and look up to, but i don't think the controlling alpha guy thing is very helpful for most families especially when they put their ego first.
