People talk about police brutality

@Asianpersuasion I’m guessing you’re not African American yourself, though ? See, police have profiled people who don’t live in predominantly African American towns, too. Sometimes for being where someone else decides they don’t “belong”.

@Asianpersuasion And I know it’s not just African Americans who are harassed by police sometimes. But I don’t understand why questions like this are asked. Are people just supposed to accept police brutality because they live in high crime areas ? Isn’t that the point ? If you live among criminals but can’t trust the police either, what are your options ?

@bijouxbroussard its definitely not acceptable, hard part is holding them accountable.

@cupidnpsyche The thing is, with some groups it happens disproportionately. Some people are targeted, encouraged by many police departments.

@cupidnpsyche The problems with police long predate rap music, though. Some artists have used the medium to describe their experiences. The problems came first, the music narrates, not the other way around. Like most genres.

@cupidnpsyche Please. They just found this woman in Matamoros gang raped and cut to pieces, not to mention the “coyotes” who make money bringing folks here. They are no more noble than any other “gang members” so don’t kid yourself.
