I'm just now realizing that I've been sober for a full year

I don't know the exact day like most people do when they quit alcohol, but I know it was October maybe between the 18th & the 25th.

I'm still absolutely devastated about my kids mom cheating on me so that happiness is being overshadowed right now. But I do feel grateful that I don't even think about turning to alcohol. Even to get through this. I already know alcohol would make things feel so much worse.

I feel no anger. I'm just completely crushed 😔 but yay for me 🙏 I guess

Good for you for not returning to the old bad habits in the face of adversity. Remember you can’t be a good Dad if you aren’t the best you can be.

@JesseInTX true that. My daughter is the main reason I even started working to be a better person. She gave me every reason to keep going

@ChiefJustWalks lots of men don’t do what you have done. They just continue their cycle of bad habits. Good on you for seeing the bigger picture.
