Also the ambulance, fire engine and police sirens every now and then.

Eventually you just adjust to louder constant volume of noise. Genuinely, I've lived in cities and now live in a very very quiet hamlet.

I hate that. Staying in some downtown areas can be really hard to sleep in, with sirens and street sweepers and various other sounds going on all night.
