I Miss My Hometown

I was born in northern Ohio but was raised in southern Ohio in a little town outside of Cincinnati. A lot of people diss our hometown but not me. It is truly where my heart is. My family is there and my daughter is buried there with my mom and dad.

What I noticed is that the people in my hometown have manners. It is shocking to me when they say please and thank you. That is definitely lacking where I live. You see, I live in the land of blue haired ladies with mean shopping carts who will argue over a penny.

What I truly miss though is the food. So when I arrive, here are the things I am going to look for and either eat or bring home with me. Don't laugh.....

1. Frisch's Big Boy
2. Frisch's Hot Fudge Cake...the chocolate BIG O
3. Butternut Bread
4. Kahn's Hot dog and Bologna
5. Mike Sell's or Husman's chips
6. A & W root beer and hotdog drive in
7. Barq's RED cream soda..not that brown stuff
8. Millilo's pizza-cut the right way in little squares
9. Richard's steak subs-I am going to eat every single bite
10. Irene's donuts...not those prefab ones at Dunkin Donuts

The list and calories will continue as I near my trip.

I have family in Marietta. I grew up in northern Ohio. I remember RC Cola, Frisch's Big Boy, Wiener king Hot Dog Stand. Getting my haircut for 5.00 instead of 18.00 like they have now. I grew up close to Mid Ohio where they raced Indy Cars and they would race the escort 200 I think it was called. When they ran I could hear them in my back yard. I don't miss snow up to my butt and blizzards though lol.
