Small Victories

Do you make sure to take the time to celebrate your small victories? I am on day 139 of eating better and exercising. If you look at where I started compared to where I am now, you would see a huge change in me. I didn’t get to where I am in just one day, though. I got here in 139 days, and it will be almost 140 days in just a few hours.

I don’t know how much weight I’ve lost because I won’t get on a scale. I follow the science, I do what the science says to do, and I don’t deviate. I can tell you that 2XL was getting kind of snug on me, and now XL is getting kind of loose on me. I can tell you that I couldn’t run longer than 15 seconds, and now I just did 15 minutes consistently.

It was the small victories of every day that got me to where I am. And it is the small victories of every day that will take me where I want to be.

So I am asking: Do you have any small victories from today that you are willing to share?

Very good for you, that is still such a win!
@EldritchFox It is a win every day, thank you!

Exercise and becoming physically fit and stronger is definitely one. I started just with walking for 30min every day… and just kept building off that

Over 2yrs sober (done one day at a time) is another

Healthier life choices have become a thing overall… I’m even getting better at dealing with mental/emotional struggles as they come.

The little things become bigger and better things. It all adds up.
@WaryWitchWandering Two years sober is amazing, good job and keep it up. Celebrate the journey it will help keep you on the path.

Congratulations.
@Entwistle Thank you.
To read your words of this hard won victory, fills the heart with joy.
Congratulations, beautiful progress...steady on!

Going through something similar, and likewise I've learned it must be conquered through small daily victories, not a full-on assault.
The road's been long, with many small steps. But when I glance behind, the landscape has entirely changed. It truly is the journey of a thousand miles.
@SethGreene531 A journey taken one step at a time, thank you.

Plz share ur inspirations. How could u stay so consisitent?
@Simplyme33 It really isnt so hard after awhile and for me once you do it for a bit and see the changes and see what you are doing is working then the motivation keeps building. I also didnt have to make huge major changes just small ones and not binge eat junk.

Another one is learning the science to do it in a healthy way and make a plan. Half the battle is just getting the right information.

Congratulations! I lost 25 pounds, but then I thought I looked better before. Today I forced myself to eat a bunch of junk.
@Chris7456 Why does it have to be junk?

@DeadOrbit
Fair enough. I'm actually very indecisive. Today I caught a glimpse of the positive changes to my body after losing the weight and I changed my mind again. I'm gonna keep losing weight.
