If it's all about advertising then stop spending. You are no longer a tool of private enterprise.

@ninalanyon my son doesn't give a hoot, but yes my family did. They were/are very dedicated to appearances. Portions of my younger years I did try to fit in with them. When I no longer did I stopped being invited to things. That was the start of realizing I didn't give a hoot

@MarbleMarvel I'm dedicated to appearances too, my own that is (as you'll see if you view my posts here!). But the only time I criticize anyone else's appearance is when I think it's a sign of some other problem that they have. As long as people are dressing the way they genuinely want it's no one else's business. It's only when the clothing is somehow objectively unsuitable for the activity that other people should get involved.
