@Musicman Ill be way way off. Head south through oregon into Nevada. Do the big crazy loop on down south of Vegas back up the east side.

@Musicman Taking 2 weeks. I'll hit some mines I've been to before. Some other places I haven't been. Area 51 of course. Assorted ghost towns and ruins. Come back with a truckload of rocks.

@icedsky I would love to see area 51. For your trips have you ever considered a small motorhome?

@Musicman I have thought about it but most the places I go a motorhome would never make it. Narrow dirt roads if you could even call them a road at all. High clearance 4 wheel drive is a must. And smaller more maneuverability is better too. Taking a RV up in these places would be suicidal

@icedsky Egads! You are right. I would never take a motorhome there. Do you camp in a tent? I mean they don't exactly have hotels there.

@Musicman Back of the truck. Have a canopy, air mattress,voltage inverter,lights etc. Couple of hairy hounds for insulation if needed.

@icedsky Sounds like a plan. There is a YouTube channel called Morton's on the Move. They built a custom overland vehicle. That thing is impressive!!! If stuff like that interests you then check it out.

@icedsky They live fulltime in a motorhome. It is the same brand as mine and very similar.

@Musicman full time wandering is a great retirement plan. Can always tow a 4x4 behind my 40 foot class A diesel pusher/tour bus. Pool on the roof. Heli pad. Basketball court inside. With bleachers!!
