Let's see, we already have:
Mo(o)nday
Tuesday (it's Martedì here so I guess it has something to do with Mars)
Wednesday (Mercoledì, so Mercury)
Thursday (Giovedì, i.e. Jupiter)
Friday (Venerdì, i.e. Venus)
Saturday (🪐)
Sunday (☀️)
Uranusday?

Tuesday comes from Tiw/Tyr, Wednesday from Woden/Odin, Thursday from Norse Thor, Friday from German goddess Frigg (possibly cognate with Norse Freia).
In Norwegian they are: mandag (moon day), tirsdag (Tyr's day), onsdag (Odin's day), torsdag (Thor's day), fredag (Freia's day).
where the prefixes "Tue-", "Wed-", "Thu-" and "Fri-" came out from?

@ninalanyon Ah, makes sense. Thank you!
So ours are after Roman gods; I wonder why planets got named after Roman deities all over the world, while weekdays vary by linguistic region

@Elessar If we stick with the general scheme of English day names then we should find another Norse or Germanic god not another planet. Only Monday and Sunday are not names of gods in the English day names. Perhaps Idun, the guardian of the apples that give the gods eternal life, so Idunsdag.

Probably for the same reason that we are all writing here in English: imperial power.

@ninalanyon I'll continue to prefer Uranodì 😏
