Ottawa and first impressions

I'd like to repeat again, I am a dumb potato LOL!

I cannot believe I called Ottawa small on my first day here after spending three hours on the road, going round and round the same area thinking this is all there is, because I am just dumb like that! Ottawa is almost triple the size of where I live... Today I searched where I would find French cafes because these are the sort of cafes where I find some peace, even if they were not really "authentic" and this lead me to another side of Ottawa, more lively, and more beautiful in terms of buildings architecture, more the French/European style .. The problem is that I think this is very close to where I live, because it was around the Parliament hill area which I spotted on my first day, so I am not sure how I did not reach there... I really have no idea, but I think I just suck at exploring and finding fun places..

My problem with Ottawa at the beginning was that I felt it was too quiet, almost boring (like people say), and while I am a quiet and boring person myself, I like some noise and seeing people around, I like to see many cafes, restaurants and music ... The was everywhere in Montreal, maybe it is why i loved it.. but today I feel a bit more lively, and I am starting to feel some sense of belonging, like I can see myself here.. but then again, I hate how I am trying to force a quick judgement, just because I know I need to make decisions..

Bottom line is, it is a beautiful city with kind and decent people all around. So I apologise Ottawa, for misjudging you based on first impressions.. Although my first impression of people hardly if ever fails me, I always feel it in my gut if someone is kind and can be trusted, and it is almost always true... but it looks like my first impression of cities isn't as accurate 🤷‍♀️🥔

@BittersweetPotato Report me for what? Making you laugh? 😤
Everywhere new is the same.
You have to get used to it......and once you are you can get around with confidence and establish favourite places to go.
And then get to know folk.
And get some old fashioned paper maps.

@TheSirfurryanimalWales Yea you are right... I guess having the pressure of making big decisions is ruining it for me... it is like I want to get used to it very quickly to be able to feel some assurance that I am making the right decision.. Problem is that I am the last person who gets used to change easily, and really I need to try before I can decide..
