I Had a Good Day

Plague Diary

71 Friday 26 June 2020

A glorious day. Clear blue skies and bright sunshine when I awake at about 06:15.

I get up, make myself coffee. I sit in the living area, by the window. And then I wonder what the roof is like this time of day.

I take my coffee and one cushion and climb up to our nest. It is wonderful. A clean morning warmth. A slight breeze.

I sit and sip my coffee. I wonder at the beauty of the day.

I bring Oksana coffee at just after 07:00. Give her the instructions for the day. These amount to, get up early, get your work done, so we can go up to the roof.

Oksana likes the roof. Likes being there. Likes what happens there. She requires no further prompting.

We interleave our showering and dressing and end up together for breakfast. Toast, ham, cheese, berries and yogurt, coffee.

Then it is off to study..

This morning I do have an on line lecture. But I do not have an explanation for why yesterday's went missing.

I work through until just after midday. We decide to declare this a virtual exercise day and we think very hard about our workout while moving things up to the roof. By 13:00, we are established back in our nest and I have prepared a salad for lunch with some cold roast chicken I grabbed from my deli. I think my little man there was a bit taken aback when I appeared at lunchtime wearing only a tee shirt and trainers. And mask. I did explain I had a bikini underneath the tee.

The sun blazed down. We took full advantage. Another day like this and we will be out of sun cream. I think I actually got some sleep.

At about 19:30, I ordered a couple of pizzas, usual toppings. When they were delivered, I brought then up to the roof and we had a picnic supper. After the heat of the day, the evening air seemed quite cool. We were back to wearing tee shirts.

I bring some coffee up, and we decide to see how late we can stay out. We rearrange the rugs and cushions for maximum comfort and take it in turns to gaze at the stars.

Eventually, around midnight, we decide to come in.

We have a quick shower and go straight to bed.

Okay so back home in the states, it is not uncommon for shops to have signs that read "No shirt, no shoes: no service"! I guess this is because it is law in some places that you must have on shoes and a top to enter a store or restaurant. Well, I've often wondered if there is no law requiring one to wear bottoms?!?! 😂

You took turns staring up at the stars? So while it was not your turn? 😏😏😏
