I Miss My Childhood

Yesterday, after much internet browsing, I finally discovered who the author of the illustration books I loved in my childhood is. Richard Scarry. I was surprised to see he is really famous all over the world.

For many years I have cursed not keeping those books. Yesterday when I found his unmistakable animal creatures, I felt shivers. I don't know why in my adult years, these figures have been the portrait of paradise lost.

Busy Town Schoolhouse. Love Huckle and Lowly Worm.
I only got to know about Richard Scarry in 2005. Yes. My boy and I love the characters. Brings back so many memories. Thanks for sharing.

@novembermoon: I don't know what those characters have, they take me away from the real world.

@Cierzo: I find myself living much more of my waking hours in my memories. It is a less painful way to live probably. I hide in them.

@novembermoon: I understand you so much. I do the same. Places change, and it is painful. At least books don't.

@Cierzo: and sometimes I fear. I fear that this part of my life will be a void. A part of my existence that I did not live.

@novembermoon: We must find some escape. Some place to fly to, and some hand to grab to fly with
