My Childhood Had It's Ups And Downs
But, generally, it was a happy one.
There was a point, very early on, that mum and dad separated for a few months, that was when I was too young to remember. There was a point, around the same time, that mum had a close call with death.
Those were things I was made aware of, thanks to my elder sibling, and I used to worry about mum because of them.
However, I mainly remember....
The house smelling of her perfume, mum singing Spice Girls songs, home cooked food - being taught to make fresh pasta, Christmas board games, mum and dad playing with me with my Barbie dolls, dad going for a run, picnics in the park, art galleries.
So, it had it's concerns and it had it's fun stuff. I did grow up a little too quick.
Wished I was still that young little thing sometimes...
