I Love My Childhood Memories

You thought love was just a hue
Reminiscent of gloom
In the summer blues

You thought love
Was a getaway
in a heated haze

Your heart full of lorn
And time spent in an
Eternal warmth

Swinging feet in the
Bristled heat
What memories you had to treasure
Lies awake in every layer

You thought time stood still
And erased every beauty in
Your heart
Would God forsake you?
Or lead you to love a burning flame

When you gave everything
To forget those leaves
That lay before your feet
And time took all
You had, to be free

How you loved and loved
And gave up your crux
In a deep whisper to the future
Hoping life will treat you better

In a crowd full of dreams
The one you picked
Was this family

You thought love was time
As it stretched to infinity,
When only moments passed

You thought lust was lies
As it hasted the seconds
In the throngs of eternal passion

As you ponder in ways
Only you could crave
Love was thinking of you
And grew in faith

The hue of love
Is the definition of your skin
In glows of heat and beauty
It grips me endlessly
Dipped in hair of golden glaze
Tremoring eyes in a longing gaze

Love is everything
You've learned with me
You thought more and more
And love has never changed.
