I were one of the lucky ones ❤️

I have an mild intellectual disability , I got diagonsed at age 14. People had told my parents many of times to just send me away to an mental health unit or put me into an group home after my parents told them. People including my family. I often got told I would never achieve anything and that I would never be independent or have an decent life. Now you cant even tell I have it , unless you are really close to me as an person or unless I tell you. Even when I worked with special needs people , none of the staff could tell I had an disability. But people often are ignorant. Luckily , parents let me stay at home and let me have an fair chance at life , although I did have mental health problems too but I got therapy for them and they are now under control. I still have therapy on and off but Im high functioning. I went onto working abroad , volunteering abroad , studying abroad too , traveling to 6 different countries so far , publishing 15 stories for children , I had been in work since age 14 on and off and owned my own business, doing volunteering and paid work too , I were an equestrain from age 10 to age 18 , I were always given the most difficult horses as I knew how to handle them , I were the most accademic kid in science class in highschool , I also do public speaking to raise awarence on hidden disabilites and break sterotypes and I my dream is to one day be an criminal lawyer in the usa and own my own law firm , I hope to create more equal opportunities and jobs.
