Do you tell your age?

I'm 59 years old and still dress and act young- its just the way I am and I don't see myself changing, even if I live to be 100. Yes, I do have wrinkles and saggy jowls and turkey waddle chin and neck but I am still 25 inside.
So I'm at work the other day and a middle aged woman came to my line and was staring at me a lot . Then she said "Do you tell your age?"
I was kinda pissed off because she was society's standard version of middle aged woman. Overweight, polyester conservative clothes and short pixie hairstyle. And here I am dressed in my normal hippie style, long hair, nose pierced, lots of tattoos, lifting heavy bags of groceries and cases of water because I lift weights every day. I could tell she was probably judging me for not trying to be like society expects women of a certain age to look and act.
So I told her I was 59 and she said " but you look and act so young!"
It was said in a judgmental way and I just wanted to say "you want me to cut my hair off and go play bingo with you?"
Nothing ruins my day more than people asking me about my age or weight or why I don't date or have a husband.
Cuz it ain't gonna happen.

I’m almost 27 and I got my first “you look great for you age” comment recently and I nearly died inside 💀 the only way to change societies views of “older women” is to completely shirk their standards on what we are supposed to be. Eventually the norm will be changed.
