EDIT-Since I got a shocked reaction, I decided to explain. After surviving extreme child abuse, I didn't ever want to see the "dark side" of anyone ever again, and that included myself. So, I have worked very hard not to embrace any darkness. I am human. When I recover a memory from my childhood, I have to work through the emotions from that. Some are dak, but once I work through it, I let it go. I don't let it become me.
I have had issues in my marriage that have made me want to embrace anger because it was painful, but if I do allow myself to do this, it makes me physically sick, so I work very hard not to embrace any darkness. Maybe this better explains my original answer.🤷♀
