Guys just curious

What do you put in your chili?
Top | New | Old
I add cubed sweet potato and chipotle peppers and it's so good 🥲
@11knaves11 half blended, half chopped. It's such a tasty sweet heat!

I roast them a bit first and add them towards the end so they don't turn to mush.

I make a veggie one, but I add some to meat separately for who wants it.

Black and dark red kidney beans, red pepper, onion, garlic, carrots, tomato paste, diced tomatoes, cilantro, lime, fire roasted corn and I forget what else if anything. Paprika, chili powder.. prob missed something.

@MellyMel22 I've never had it with carrots, I'm have to try it.

@BuzzedLightyear have you won any chili cookoffs? I'm will to part with Sw coins
BuzzedLightyear · 61-69, M
@11knaves11 So here's the situation. My grandparents on my mother's side were from Germany and they fled WWII Germany and ended up in Oregon of all places. Then...they opened of all things...a Mexican restaurant. Well, Grandma made this damn legendary chili. After a while they moved to California and my mom was born. By the time I came along it was a family tradition to cook and eat Grandma's chili on Christmas Eve. That tradition is still carried on with me and my kids. You won't pry that recipe from my cold, dead hands.
