To find this incredibly hypocritical?

My sisters partner cheated on his wife and then got cheated on himself before he met my sister who he now claims is the love of his life.
Today, in the UK, our health secretary was revealed to have cheated. Now my sisters partner is joining in all the jokes about it online. Anyone else think this is incredibly hypocritical seeing as he is a past cheat?
So... he cheats once - before you even knew him and now he deserves condemnation for the rest of his life???

Just because he had an affair once, it doesn't mean that he is a serial cheat.

@HootyTheNightOwl if you think it's okay to betray someone's trust once, you'll think it's okay again. The greatest predictor of cheating is past cheating.
@basilfawlty89 Maybe it is in some cases... in other cases, people may only cheat if something has occurred in their lives that has caused them to feel so threatened that they feel like they have no other option available to them.

Sure, normal people will say "Just leave him/her - it's as easy as that". The truth is that you don't know what levels of control that person is under or what they might have already tried to get out. If you feel that every door is closed to you... then an affair may be the last resort thing for you.

@HootyTheNightOwl Completely disagree. He was only sorry he got caught.
Either way, if you cheat you are certainly in no position to laugh about someone in the public eye who has done it. Hypocrisy at it's best.

Damn right it is. He obviously is in huge self denial. Like the person who condemns one for lying but they were cheating😆

Being a hypocrite is the core component of a cheater.

I know this may come out as weird.

I have never met a person who has cheated and felt it was wrong. Its always like they never did anything wrong but they're quick to identify others as cheaters. My dad did the same.

@Beatbox34 I agree. Almost like they feel they are the exception and should be excused but everyone else condemned.
Stopmakingsense · 56-60, F
It's not hypocrisy in the usual sense. These people are victims of their love lives. They're hopeless romantics.

@Stopmakingsense Seriously?!
Stopmakingsense · 56-60, F
@Fenella yes, they should not be trusted in the first place, they're serial offenders, too.

I think it's very judgemental, if you understand how these things can happen.

Betting 50 bucks he'll eventually cheat on your sister.
