Do you feel tragic incidents like the Florida nightclub shooting are too easily forgotten? [I Am Curious]

We’ve had so many incidents of gatherings being the place of attacks for armed predators to take their victims lives.

From nightclubs to concerts to movie theaters and even schools.

What are your takes on the Florida Nightclub incident concerning Omar Mateen?

Now that biden is in office and the socialists want gun control, expect more ...just like when obama was in office
@TexChik Why should people expect more when it never stopped? And violence has taken place the world over. Whether it’s been bombs, guns, or vehicles as just some examples.

@Seventeen The US doesn’t have a lot of bombings . Obama had 162 mass shootings during his watch . The most of any president .
@TexChik Not that it really matters but there were 10 more mass shootings in Trumps four years than all of Obama's eight. It doesn't matter because this has been a trend since the first Bush, that these sort of shootings are accelerated and Trump didn't do anything to slow it down, but it wasn't particularly sped up either. Although the type of target was different and the number of fatalities were way up under Trump.

@RandomForest that’s BS! Proof would be good

@TexChik Not that you'll care, but the definition of mass shooting is fairly loose and not agreed upon. This aside, regardless of where you look at the numbers, you'll see that the concentration of shootings per year under Trump was significantly greater than Obama.

The final sums of shootings differ depending on how it's defined, but the concentration of the killings is what's important, especially considering one was only president for four years and had close to or greater than the amount as someone who was president for eight.

It's not BS what @BigAssLeech said is true, but here are the shootings under some reasonable metrics, if you count them out you'll seem I am right.

@RandomForest nonsense .

@TexChik Look it up yourself then. Find objective numbers of mass shootings per year, then do the addition. It's really not a subjective thing...
TexChik · F
@BigAssLeech Obama had 162 mass shootings on his watch ( murders) , Trumps 4 years had very few if any mass shootings. The media would have been all over it.
BigAssLeech · 31-35, M
@TexChik Murders aren't the same as mass shootings. I have no idea what numbers you're looking at, considering literally every other source (including nonprofit organizations dedicated solely to researching mass shootings) say the complete opposite.
@TexChik That simply isn't true.
