I was born in 1967, so I consider the 70s to have been my childhood. Once I heard music, it was all over...THAT was and is THE dominant force in my life. I had a small record player that only played 45s and a radio. Back then, you heard Top 40 which was hard rock, soft rock, singer/songwriter, R&B/Philly Soul, oldies/doo-wop, it was all there. And, my parents were supportive. Terrific parents. Not perfect, but really awesome. My brother entered the picture in 1971. Grandparents lived next door. We had a park with swings a block away. We moved away in 1974.

I considered my childhood effectively over on Dec. 8, 1980, when John Lennon died.
