I Have Strange Childhood Memories

When I was 10 years old, I woke up in the middle of night and saw a strange green light coming from my parents room. But it was impossible. My door was wide open and theirs was shut, it had that jagged glass that you can't see through but the light was shining through and it was so bright that it lit up the entire lounge room that was between our 2 bedrooms. I could only see maybe up to a meter into the lounge room. Strangely, it did not light up my room very much. The entrance was lit up a little bit but the rest was dark. Something that stopped me from being able to see clearly into the next room should have given my room a lot more light than that.
I was sitting up in bed and was going to get up and check it out. Unfortunately... I laid down and went back to sleep :/ That is one of my biggest regrets. I asked my parents about the green light the next day but they said they didn't know anything.
I understand that it might sound like a dream but I have no doubt that I was awake and what I saw was real.

It is possible to dream when awake as daydreaming is also a thing. I had never had a real daydream before until recently and when it happened it was terrible and scared the living daylights out of me literally. Some people have false memories of things happening as well and I can only assume that’s it’s happened to me also. I have memories of songs that don’t exist and a vivid memory of going to see my grandmas friend who lived in a really nice apartment looking over London but in reality she lived in Dorset in an ordinary bungalow so don’t know what happened there.

@Gingerbreadspice I know what daydreaming is like, I've done it my whole life and it wasn't that. Honestly until now I thought it was normal for everyone, just that some do it more than others.
It's definitely not a false memory, either. Like I said I asked my parents about it the next day and even years later they still remembered me doing that.
As for your memories of things that apparently didn't happen, do you ever still think that they did actually happen?
@Redstar if I said you experienced something paranormal you may or may not believe me as I believe in the paranormal but others may not and that’s when they start to look for other answers like a false memory or what have you. Obviously you do remember something happening to you but you can’t find the answer and I have no doubt it did happen to you or you believe it did. I actually even sometimes wonder that the things I remember happening to me did happen but it happened to me in a alternate universe as there is absolutely no proof of it happening in this one. I have asked my family and they remember me asking but not actually happening. So it appears that you and me have memories of things and like so many people do but it can’t be explained unless you believe it’s paranormal or a daydream or something like that. Sorry for long post.

@Gingerbreadspice I'd believe it. That stuff happening to you in an alternate universe is something that came to my mind. Another possible explanation is that reality changed. Someone or something altered it but for some reason only you can remember what it used to be like. Or maybe others do but just haven't said anything, or you don't know them.
@Redstar I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks this could happen to themselves.

@Gingerbreadspice Me too. I was hesitant to bring any of this stuff up but I'm glad I did.
