I Prefer Being Alone But Hate Being Alone

It's a pathetic situation, I'm just extremely selective of who my company is. i always get the feeling that I'm better off being alone than waste time with passer bys. Am I just being selfish or self defensive or just plain distrusting?
I probably crave for love and attention from people.

You're only as good as the company you keep. I'm the same, i know lots of people but i have a VERY small group i ever really confide in or feel truly comfortable around.
Just be sure to stay open to those kinds of people, never know where you'll find em.

@Outoforbits: yeah.... Sometimes I can hit it right off with a cab driver and just stay quiet in class. My case is that I even find people in my class annoying. Is it because I'm just secretly jealous that I envy their group?

@LonelyMonster: Nah, you just don't have patience for people that don't click with you which is good. Loners have stronger personalities, you probably just haven't met people that match you yet. Plus you don't have to be social all the time, i'm introverted and extraverted when i want to be, but i have to recharge my batteries/can go ages without speaking to anyone at all.
