You got 911 there to, I thought that was USA only thing to
@HumanEarth It was broadcast over here as it happened - the images of it will likely never leave me... and I thought the sounds of all those alarms wouldn't either, until I watched something today and remembered that it was 9/11 that was responsible for those alarms being adopted globally.

Where were you at that time?
@SW-User I was at home, when my mum called and made me turn on the TV because the first plane had just hit... I watched the second in real time. After that, I went to her house because I couldn't stomach anymore - yet, I still spend time there watching the screen in disbelief.
Trying to understand what I was looking at, where the footpaths were, why people were jumping from heights they'd never survive from, silently begging them not to jump...

There are images seared into my brain from having been in NYC on 9/11. There are plenty of Reddits, where people go over all the details with a fine-toothed comb.
@uncalled4 I still remember the images I saw... but not so much the sounds...

@HootyTheNightOwl There's plenty on You Tube. Someone took video of the Towers right after the planes hit and the Muzak is still playing in the Plaza. Chilling.
@uncalled4 Phones still rang in the offices, too...
