They're usually afraid of being ostracized but tbh I would let them go. If someone hates or dislikes you for little things they weren't worth your time or friendship anyway, not when you could have been a murderer, rapist, pedo, cannibal etc. if all that it took for you to fall out of their favor is that you slept with a couple people, smoke, drink or swear, etc then it's hardly a loss. 🤷🏾‍♀

Just be honest. One person not liking you means nothing. You've got billions more chances.

Most humans don't seem to function that way. I couldn't tell you why, I prefer being straight forward and honest and I appreciate it from others.

Everyone is competing with everyone else directly or indirectly, consciously or subconsciously, and many don't feel that they can compete on equal and open terms. So the truth is distorted, the spaces between the lines are coloured in, etc. If everyone genuinely believed that it were to their advantage to be straightforward then they likely would be.

Because they believe those are the rules of the game of life. Like a strategy to get a one up on others.

Because they are private people. Annoys the f out of me.
