TL;DR: Hello, darlings! It's been forever. I'm alive!
So it's been a while! I hope everyone has been well and that your new year has started off phenomenally! Even if all you managed to do was wake each day and keep your head above water, that's still something to be proud of when so many drown in the swift current called life
I've been through quite a health adventure! Between iron infusions and specialist appointments, it's been a wild ride!
So far, I have confirmed thalassemia trait, which has actually been giving them issues. I've got Interstitial Lung Disease that is probably autoimmune caused. I've got reactive airway disease and we're waiting for a second and third Rheumatologist confirmation (Because I want to be absolutely sure, so the more the merrier) but it looks like my autoimmune issue is Mixed Connective Tissue Disease. Which takes Systemic Lupus Erythematosis, Scleroderma and polymyositis and mixes them all together. I may also have anemia of chronic disease, but I have a hematologist appointment to confirm that one. I should still be benefitting from iron infusions, but my levels are wonky. Iron tablets make me sick as hell no matter how I take them, so.. Infusions it is! Gonna get those Chris Redfield gains with all the iron I've been pumping!
My heart is also being fucky wucky. Constantly experiencing tachycardia, with resting heart rates that get up to 127. I have experienced palpitations with it as well. My primary wants me to wear a holster monitor for a few days. She's wondering if I don't have Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome. I asked my mother if anyone ever said anything about a heart defect. She said "No, but you used to complain a lot about your heart and chest as a kid. We figured it was growing pains so we never did anything about it" 🙄
I also have a small brain aneurysm. It's a paraopthalmic ICA (Internal Carotid Aneurysm) and it was 3mm as of June 2025. I have an appointment June of 2026 to get CT of the head and neck with contrast dye to see if it's grown any.
So we're getting somewhere. I also am seeing a neurologist for my migraines, for cervicogenic headaches and to keep an eye on a mix of axonal loss and demyelination in my right hand that is causing mild tremors.
Enough about the negatives. Time for the content anyone who remembers me is here for. BUNNO UPDATES:
All six are still alive and well!
Sage: We just celebrated his 4th birthday and 4 years together! He's a Mini Satin rabbit and he's got a broken black coat. He's the most trusting of me, without a doubt. We've got quite the bond. You know you're bonded when a high prey animal will sprawl on the couch and won't flinch or get up when you walk past or make a bunch of noise.
Phoenix: Mommas is going on 3 years with me and 3 years old! She's such a sweetie. It seems having a litter really chilled her out with her anxiety. Or it could be that she's older now. She seems a lot more relaxed lately. She's a double mane Lionhead rabbit with a blue steel coat.
Tarragon: Ol boy is the big 11 months! Coming up on one year! I may have made an error upon determining his sex. While he has been known to be aggressive towards his brother before I separated them for good, I have yet to see his testiclies. Typically, on a male that's in tact, depending on how they lay? You can see them. He is quite floofy and his underbelly is a light cream colour, so trying to tell would be really hard. Especially since males can retract their bits to protect them when stressed. Colour is usually key. Males are pink. Females are white. He's a Lionhead mixed with Mini Satin (If you know about last year, you know) and he's got a Sable coat. Grey fur, black ears, black face, black legs, black feet, black tail.
Saffron: Tarragon's brother. He's become trauma bonded to me. Shortly after my friend Caitlyn took Tarragon's twin home, he and his brother came into their hormones and the baby bond broke. Tarragon attacked him and I had to break the fight up. Saffron lost his brothers and then his dad (Sage) turned on him because he no longer smelled like a baby. Sage mounted and dominated him. Not just into submission but into a broken spirit. Full shut down. I rescued him from that situation too. Which was sad because he and Sage got along well. He went into a depression and quit eating. Went into GI Stasis and I had to nurse him back by syringe feeding him a critical care formula multiple times a day. Through all that? He is doing much better, but now throws a fit including thumps, wheeks, and whines when I have to leave or when I go to bed. I left him a shirt that smells like me. It seems to help. He's a Charlie coat. So he's all white with Grey ears and a spot over both eyes. Also Lionhead x Mini Satin but he takes more after Sage.
Coriander: He's a mutant! Haha. The little shelter bunny I got that was thrown away by his owner and left to wander outside is actually an Astrex Rex rabbit. He's got a genetic mutation and he's going to be a curly Boi! He'll look like a little sheep full grown. The shelter said he was an adult because they neutered him on intake. But bunnies get their bits at 3 months. He's grown quite a bit since I got him in April. His fur is changing more and more. I had a feeling he was a baby still when I brought him home because he only wanted alfalfa. Wouldn't touch Timothy Hay or Orchard Grass. Alfalfa only appeals to young bunnies and nursing bunnies. His original name was Sage. You can see why I changed it lol.
Valerian: The other shelter bun I brought home with Coriander. He was force seized because he was in abusive, inhumane and unsanitary conditions. He's still pretty skittish, but he warms up if you scoop him and hold him securely. He likes to use my shoulder as a table for his snacks. He's an American rabbit. Solid black and silky. He's about 9 pounds. His original name was Banshee. But I wanted him to fit in with the herb/spice theme all my males have going on.
And, of course, bunny pictures!
In order: Sage, Phoenix, Tarragon, Saffron, Coriander, Valerian
I do hope you all are doing well and that you have the best of day/night where ever you may be! 🩵
