I know all I do is complain, but I have no one else to listen...

Throughout my life I've been told I'm selfish and too wrapped up in myself, which I don't think is true at all. However, if it is, is it any wonder when I've had to care for myself since a young age? I've had family around me, but they've been too preoccupied with more important things. Everything I know I have had to learn for myself. I might put myself first in some situations, but that doesn't mean I don't care about others. I think I care too much if anything.

I don't ever look at your posts as complaining. Venting maybe but not complaining.
You say your family is too preoccupied with "more important things" but you have to remember YOU are important. Not a thing but an important person.
