how much debt do you have?? actually few americans have a million dollar investment portfolio.

i learned financial responsibility at very early age and am at a much better position than i realized. i have ZERO debt after paying off my mortgage in 2023. there are 6 rungs on the financial ladder with the vast majority on the 2 bottom rungs struggling to survive paycheck to paycheck working multiple part-time jobs. single parents raising children with little support, etc. the top rung of the ladder are the celebrities, athletes, billionaires etc. i always wondered how my neighbors and co-workers could afford their lavish luxurious lifestyle...actually they cant!!

I have no debt so that's good. I have no credit still either which is wild since I'm almost 29. I've owned 10 cars but I bought them all on the spot in cash. Never had a car payment. Never got a loan. Never got a credit card & never financed anything. Whenever I wanted something bad enough I would save up & buy it fully because I don't wanna pay double the price just because of interest.

I do live paycheck to paycheck though since I have no savings either. This all makes me think it's about time I get started planning financially for my future

@ChiefJustWalks very much the same. 0 debt. 0 money. No credit. Never owned a credit card. Thats why my cresit is like 150. And thats bad. Nevwr ownes a carm too expensive. Also livinf check to check. Working a normal minimum wage job. Might be stuck here forever.
