Strictsir The spitfire took the headlines and is a beautiful plane admired even today. You to should be proud.
However it was the wooden hurricane that had the most kills and the wooden mosquito that was the most successful night fighter and fighter bomber of the 2nd world war on our side, and carried heavy bombs. Even though "Mr Spitfire” used to barrel roll Lancasters on their first check flight out of the factory and it carried the heaviest payloads pf world war 2 - the mosquito is often cited as the best bomber of world war 2 full stop.
Sadly I have no association with De Havilland or Hawker Siddeley (or Avro)
So why aren't electric planes made of wood ??
