Sunshine, hearing birds sing in the morning before I get out of bed, no conflicts with anyone, no pain, and being able to do the things I want to or have planned for the day….whether it’s at home or getting out of the house and shopping, browsing around the town, or doing something fun like going for a meal or to the casino.

@cherokeepatti Do you have pain? How are you doing? It sounds good hearing about you getting around and doing things.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Musicman usually don’t now. But when the digestive part flares up I can have pain…usually not too bad, I will take CBD oil if it gets too bad and haven’t done it yet, just toughed it out so far. CBD oil will stimulate my appetite and it’s pretty good right now, I don’t want to gain a lot of weight like I did when I was using it a couple times a day for joint pain (believe it was osteoarthritis pain then).

@cherokeepatti I am so happy that you are doing better and eating again. Has your weight loss leveled out yet?

@Musicman I gained 10
pounds in January. I think 5 of that was because I had been dehydrated before and it was causing about half of the gastric symptoms. I went to Walmart on the 2nd of January and got weak. Went to sit down at the blood pressure machine to reset and then took my blood pressure. It was 90/54. I thought about it and decided I was low on salt which is an electrolyte. Went to Aldi to get some other things and got a box of salt and a seltzer drink. Ate a pinch pink of salt I the car and drank half the seltzer. I felt better by the time I drove to my bank. Went home and had some more salt a few times that day and it stopped most of the gastric symptoms. Have to take dandelion root supplements to build up my bile. It had gotten way low due to not eating enough foods that help do that plus was taking turmeric and found out that it can block bile production sometimes so stopped taking it. Then the other gastric symptoms got better and I felt like eating more. Plus I drink more water with the salt

@cherokeepatti I am really glad to see you gaining some weight. That rapid weight loss definitely wasn't good. Dehydration is terrible. I am glad you got that figured out. With blood pressure that low you are lucky you didn't pass out.

@Musicman Rapid weight loss taking muscle with it. I lost most of my backside to the point my tailbone hurts if I don’t sit or sleep on a cushion in my recliner or lift chair. I never had that problem when I was younger and weighed even less than now. I’m seeing bones I have never noticed before. But I feel good now most days and can walk around in stores and not get exhausted. I want to start walking outdoors when it warms up more. Maybe a few times around the block when I am alone, would never be more than 2 blocks from home in case I get tired and want to stop. Or longer walks with the boy when he is at home. He likes to walk with me. We used to walk different routes and use a magnet stick to pick up sharp metal things and collect them to keep our tires from getting flats. A lot of metal and mail carriers get a lot of flats due to pulling up close to curbs and mailboxes, most of the screws and nails have been flicked over close to the curb by passing cars.

@cherokeepatti You are truly a good person. Not many people would pick up all the metal off the roads. My dad lost a ton of weight when he had cancer too. Like me, he needed to lose weight too. Before the weight loss got out of control he was actually looking good. We was even wearing a size medium shirt.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Musicman I can wear the smallest stuff I had in my closet for years now and I think those clothes and styles look good on me. I buy clothing that will not look outdated even 10 or so years later, classic styles like button up shirts etc. I lost a lot of weight in the past 6 years. I just wish it’d been another way this last 50 pounds, no diet, no exercise but still the hardest way.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@cherokeepatti I wish it had been too. You are in my prayers daily. 🙏🙏🙏
