Why do so many people seem to dislike the soft gamine body type.

Ex: Audrey Hepburn is a soft gamine

I noticed when people try and insult my body, they try and say I look like a boy or that I’m trans.

I feel like I’m obviously a female. Soft gamine body type is a feminine body type.

So I usually bring up other soft gamines like Audrey or other women with a similar body type to mine like Michelle Pfeiffer. Usually I get the response of “they’re classy” or something along those lines because we all know they are beautiful women.

So the issue is why my personality and not my actual body? So then why bring it up?

I think my issue is not so much my body being insulted. I used to be heavier and have thicker hips/butt and hated it. I hated when people said I had a fat booty, because to me that is a bad thing. So I lost all the weight. This is my dream body type.

My issue is how people automatically want to degrade women and base their value solely on their appearance and perceived attractiveness. If you have an issue with my character, then that’s fine but I do not exist to be attractive to other people.

Keep in mind, I have an ED, so insults/compliments are flipped in my mind. So being called too skinny/sick is a compliment. Healthy and curvy is the insult because you’re calling me fat.

I kind of wonder why people do this though? Do men experience these things? Because sometimes I think it’s misogyny (yes, women can be misogynists too).

Ehh every generation has its ‘new standard of beauty’. Right now it’s ‘ Kardashian’. Before that it was the ‘Barbie’ look. Before that, the ‘heroine chick; look. (In the States anyway) It’ll be something else in another 5, 10 years. IMO it’s always comes down to controlling women by either pitting them against each other or playing off their insecurity.

One nice thing though is that even if whatever your body type isn’t trending, we live in an era that is a mishmash of things, so there are still lots of people who appreciate non-mainstream aesthetics.

@WhateverWorks it doesn’t really concern me if my body type isn’t trending. I actually hate when people express attraction to me, it makes me uncomfortable. My issue is the need to body shame me simply for existing or saying something they don’t like.

The attack on my femininity/gender identity also seems out of pocket.
