Women were never housewives until the last century or so

Women in previous centuries were expected to do farm work, for example. Life was not cushy. Why do people act like being a home maker has been the human way since the beginning? That is a modern day privilege.

Because it was terrible for women in the past. Cops didn’t get involved in domestic violence (women were viewed as property), women couldn’t choose to go on birth control without permission. I know a woman who has NINE miscarriages because her husband wouldn’t consent to birth control. It broke her heart to have that many. Women weren’t typically allowed to seek higher education. We were not allowed to have careers, the ones that were available didn’t pay well to be on your own. So if you are escaping abuse, you’re screwed. STOP acting like the past was better, it wasn’t. @dale74
