tbh it sounds like you have imposter syndrome which is causing you to mess up, they're no smarter than you lmao

@SW-User What's imposter syndrome? Never heard of that.
SW-User
@MntoNc psychological occurrence in which an individual doubts their skills, talents, or accomplishments and has a persistent internalized fear of being exposed as a fraud
MntoNc · 36-40, M
@SW-User well, i cant say i'm a fraud because i never lied on my resume or during an interview about the role im in. I mean, i could say maybe my training wasnt great in my opinion, or that the trainer who i work with expects me to know a lot of this stuff already. Thats why i think she should have been part of the interview panel. But anything i say will sound like excuses and i dont want to sound like that

Hmmm? Reduce the talking points to the minimum and let the audience help drive the presentation. Ask for examples and what they think.
Unless you have been pre-defined as an expert, don't pretend to be one. Be a discussion leader that helps the group get their collective minds on the same page,
Hopefully you have a power-point or other training aids to help manage the flow.

Why are they making you do the presentation if you don't understand it? Or do you need to study more? Can anyone help explain it to you? Or are they not helpful?

@SStarfish im not 100% on that, but why would they have me doing this if they know im not going to do well on it and im the least knowledgable one on the team that can present this information, while theyve all been here for years. I suppose they can say their workload is busier than mine? Im not sure

You are working for the wrong people.
MntoNc · 36-40, M
@TheOrionbeltseeker why do you say that? You might be right but im just curious. You know the funny thing is back on my interview last year, only the director interviewed me. The people I work with on a daily basis didn't interview me

@MntoNc Go to a person that is underneath your position and who knows at least some aspect of your job and learn everything you can from them. Start from the ground up. Aren't their company policies, training materials or data on previous work that can help you to learn more? And yes your employer doesn't sound great.

I know what it feels like to be at a job where for whatever reason you don't feel that you're able to do your best why do you feel that you're not able to do your best? because I know they must have hired you for a good reason and you are def not dumb
Relax and speak more slowly and save some talking points for yourself on a page or card.
Keep it super basic. Tell an industry joke in the middle to lighten the mood. Do you know the material?
